mine has been doing that since around 4 months too and I don't think he's ready for real solids yet. he's mostly interested in doing what you're doing and mimicking and imitating. give him a spoon or a cup or something to play with. in my opinion, 4 months is too young for food and I think he just wants to be apart of your 'game.'
