Here are some common teeth whitening remedies using household items:

Maintain proper oral hygiene. Brush your teeth at least two times a day. After consuming foods rich in sugars, always rinse your mouth with water.

Use antiseptic solution such as Dettol or Listerine to regularly rinse your mouth. Doing so will kill the bacteria in the mouth and prevent dental infections and discolorations. Another excellent antiseptic is potassium permanganate solution.

Does listerine whitening mouth wash work?

So i tried listerine whitening wash but i cant tell any difference. Has anyone else used it before?

You can do the same thing by soaking a piece of cloth in Hydrogen Peroxide and holding it against your teeth. That's what's in all these whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes. And no, it doesn't eat through the enamel of the tooth.

When my kids lost their baby teeth I put each one in a little capful of Hydrogen Peroxide and within an hour they were sparkling white WHITE.

I've done the same to my own teeth, holding a cloth soaked in Hydrogen Peroxide against my teeth, and it doesn't burn, and my teeth are very white. I did it for about ten minutes at a time for about a month.

When I was little my uncle used to use Pearl Drops Tooth Polish to brush his teeth with. This is still around today and works way better than Crest or Listerine or any of those.
