How will a cheap amp wiring kit damage my system?
I bought a cheap amp kit and was wondering if this could damage anything, im only running 250 watts rms. Once you strip a wire, is it okay to fold the end to make it thicker? This was the only way i could get my terminals to stay on.
not really, I don't really like wire kit they are expensive, I like buy everything separate a lot cheaper, 8 awg wire is enough, and the wolmart brand RCA Cables and speaker wire for the remote on the amplifier, 16 awg kicker speaker wire should do good on you. Look up on the ebay or amazon for a fuse block, it's like under 10 dollars for an 8 awg wire to run though. wire terminals like 2 dollar for 4 of them if you can find it, should be around that price for 8 awg, 60 amp fuse should do decent on your amplifier. I teach you a better way to let terminals to stay on, strip it first then use a hammer to hammer it down, best and cheapest way to do it, even professionals dose in this way, not just me. If you have 0 awg wire terminals use the solder fist to solder the wire in to the terminal, I like to use a power gas torch to solder the wire be-careful don't burn yourself or the house, I always doing it on my drive way or down the street a lot safer that way. Don't worry about the terminal turning red or purple-ish red is do to high temperature. The wire can get really really hot, I would suggest you after you have done hammer it down and don't touch the end of terminal they can still be hot but is easy for you to hammer it down I would suggest use any kind wooden board and do it on the board. Just easy for you. after you have finished everything set the wire in to the cold water or let it set for a period of time to cool off, then put it on your battery all that should be working good, and is tightest way of doing it to, learned from one of my friend who is in the car audio world for over 5 years, he tough me this thing, because I wasted 2 0 awg wire terminals to do not tight like you said fold the end and put it inside the terminals and hammer it down no good on 0 awg, may be 8 awg is okay, not sure on 4 awg wire I just hammer it down that's all. Nothing else and stayed on okay, but this way is the tightest way of doing it, not way the terminals going to fall off unless you cut the wire off. good luck.
